DIY – Loose, mattifying face powder with clay

Hey Girls,

Today I’m going to encourage you to toy with the following The Creative Evening Idea. Let’s produce a homemade cosmetic! It’s super easy to make, natural and its action is marvellous: and the cosmetic is… a face powder!

Give a call to your friend and go for it!

Unfortunately, one of the most important make-up cosmetics tends to be frequently comedogenic, it clogs skin pores and, in the long run, it works to our disadvantage. Indeed, it makes our skin less shiny but it’s at the sacrifice of something else. In most cases, as I have just mentioned this, such product blocks skin pores and… have I mentioned that it clogs skin pores? :))

My powder is delicate and transparent because I used only white ingredients to ‘produce’ it. Once applied to the skin, they don’t affect its colour in any degree.

Naturally, you can diversify the powder by adding, for example, green clay (for capillary skin) or brown carob (for pale complexion). These substances don’t only improve skin tone but also they nourish the skin thanks to the high content of vitamins and minerals.

The basic version of loose powder looks banal (and at the same brilliant). Just mix white mineral clay with rice powder and a pinch of potato starch. I do this the following way, I mix a table spoon of clay, a tablespoon of rice flour, and a teaspoon of potato starch. If you have an empty container you bought a loose powder in, just use it for your new homemade powder. If you don’t have such a container at your disposal, find something similar since it’s important to store the powder closed. Here’s a brilliant idea – such homemade loose powder closed in a pretty packaging can be a great gift for your friend!

Of course, you have to use a big make-up brush to apply the cosmetic. Best if made of natural bristle because this is perfect to apply loose cosmetics. When it comes to the estimated expiration date of your homemade loose powder, there is no precise one, yet if you keep using dirty make-up brush then all the bacteria will get to the product spoiling it. Providing you maintain your brushes in good condition, you can use the loose powder for a year or even longer.
