Homemade methods of dry skin care. My favourite DIY masks

Hello girls!

I am the (unlucky) owner or dry and sensitive skin which I try to take care of in the most natural way possible. Therefore, I like to prepare my own homemade DIY cosmetics. One of my favourites one are face masks I make myself. All of the ingredients provide moisturising, regenerating and nourishing properties. My cosmetics are aimed to hydrate the skin in depth. They leave my complexion smooth, soft without the unpleasant feeling of tightness.

Before applying each mask, I always remove my makeup thoroughly. Next, I put a wet, very warm towel onto my face and leave it on for about 10 minutes. This way, the pores of my skin open up and the complexion is able to absorb more nutrients that I am about to deliver. If you prep your face this way, you can go ahead and apply the mask.:)

Avocado face mask

You will need a small avocado and a tablespoon of natural honey. I knead the avocado with a fork and mix it thoroughly with honey. This is the simplest version of this mask. If you want, you can enrich it with a few teaspoons of orange juice and sweet almond oil. I put a thick layer on my face and leave it for 15 minutes. Then, just rinse out with lukewarm water.

Egg yolk face mask

Egg yolk contains a high amount of vitamin A and abounds in amino acids, fatty acids, and the B-complex vitamins. It is not only one of the most effective masks but also the easiest to prepare.!:) I whip the yolk and apply to my face for about 20 minutes. Then, I rinse it out and apply my favourite face cream.

Flaxseed face mask

Flaxseed is especially beneficial for dry skin due to its oil properties.

Pour water over a tablespoon of flaxseeds and bring to boil until the consistency gets thicker. After it cools down, I apply it to the face (sometimes I use a gauze if the consistency is too runny). I remove it after about 20 minutes.

Oat flakes and honey face mask

I combine a handful of oats with a tablespoon of honey and stir to create a thick paste. If the honey is not runny enough, I warm it up in a water bath. Sometimes, I like to add an egg yolk to intensify the effects. I apply it to the face and leave in on for about 20-30 minutes.

Oat flakes contain a lot of vitamin E and antioxidants which are beneficial to the skin. Also, they have anti-inflammatory effects and bring relief to the irriated skin.

Let me know if you knew these recipes or whether you’ve ever tried them! If you have your own reliable recipes, leave them in the comment! I will definitely try out all of your ideas! 🙂
