How to Care for Skin When You Have a Cold? Tried & Tested Hacks & Cosmetics

Hi!

When you’ve got a cold, it’s not only your body that suffers. Your skin condition is worse, too. Dry and flaky face skin, chapped lips, red nose. That’s why the right beauty care is a must. Why wouldn’t you treat your skin as much as you try to heal your entire body?

Moisturising is a basis

When you have a cold, your skin usually gets dehydrated. You spend days in bed and can’t even apply a moisturiser. Moreover, you don’t feel like eating or drinking whereas some pharmaceuticals impoverish the natural bacterial flora. The skin lacks water, loses a natural shine quickly and gets harsh to the touch. What can be done? Keep your fave moisturiser or mist close and spray it on the skin regularly.

Camouflaging the imperfections

A red nose, puffy eyes and dark circles are just some of the problems when you have a cold. Use a concealer for a fast camouflage. It must be lightweight and rich in nutrients and soothing ingredients. It may also illuminate the skin to add some freshness.

A bit of color won’t do any harm

When you’re sick, the skin is grayish, loses its natural shade and gets dark under-eye circles instead. Obviously, you may use a concealer but a blush or shimmery product makes an effective solution. Pick cosmetics that are creamy and hydrate the skin.

Take care of your eyes

Getting a cold often means painful, itching and watery eyes. There’s no point in applying mascaras, eyeliners or eyeshadows even when manufacturers promise the products are waterproof. A gentle massage, soothing eye creams or moisturising eye drops make a far better choice. Use products that deliver oxygen and brighten the skin, giving your eyes a spark!
