I use it as a lash conditioner, hair oil treatment, but mostly it serves me as a make-up removing oil. Today’s post will show you how I remove make-up using coconut oil step by step, and why it’s worthwhile. Enjoy the read!

Which coconut oil did I choose?

Paying slightly more and choosing unrefined coconut oil is definitely the best solution. This type of oil preserves all essential nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and saturated fatty acids. Plus, it smells like heaven and has antibacterial effects. Unrefined coconut oil turned out to be a bull’s eye for my face and make-up removal routine (I put the same oil in hair for deep-conditioning treatment).

  • it is all-natural method
  • it has antibacterial properties

Step-by-step guide to removing make-up with coconut oil

  1. At first I dampen the face with a small amount of lukewarm water.
  2. I rub coconut oil between the hand palms.
  3. I massage the face with my hands for 30 seconds to 2 minutes. The time depends on the intensity of my make-up.
  4. Next, I soak cotton rounds with water and wipe them along the face until the round is clean.
  5. I dampen the face using lukewarm water.
  6. I wash the face using my favorite foam and use a toner.

Remember that I write about my skin. Coconut oil doesn’t irritate it and it actually clicked with my complexion. My skin tends to dry out, but dermatologists advise you to be careful while putting coconut oil on oily, problematic complexion because it may cause irritations and congest the skin.
