It’s really hard to remove waterproof cosmetics. It takes more time than taking regular makeup products off. It’s different when you know a few life-saving tricks for cleaning the face precisely. In today’s post, I include a few ways to effortlessly remove waterproof beauty products.

Which cosmetics to use for makeup removal?

For removing waterproof makeup, you need products containing oils. They remove makeup, dissolving sebum and impurities at the same time.

1. Bi-Phase Makeup Remover

It’s mostly used for removing the eye makeup. A bi-phase product is ideal for the sensitive eyelid skin, lashes and brows because it doesn’t damage the protective, lipid layer. It contains water and oil fraction which removes every mascara or eyeliner. A good bi-phase remover should also include nourishing and protecting ingredients, caring for the skin, eyelashes and eyebrows.

2. Oil

You can use it for the OCM – Oil Cleansing Method. Buy a ready-made product or make an oil-based makeup remover at home. You need castor oil and carrier oils:

  • for dry skin – Argan Oil or Olive Oil
  • for normal skin – Avocado Oil or Apricot Seed Oil
  • for oily skin – Linseed Oil or Safflower Oil
  • for acne-prone skin – Black Seed Oil or Tamanu Oil

3. Micellar Water

It contains micellar molecules which push water away and attract the fats. That is why it effectively removes sebum, thick or greasy cosmetics and other impurities. Additionally, micellar water moisturises the skin and protects it from the external factors.
