Which Heat Protectant to Choose for Hair? My TOP 4 Products Here

Hey!

In today’s post I want to talk about heat protection for hair. You sent me many requests to recommend the best products so I’m going to round up my top four picks for guarding the hair against thermal damage. I use them by turns, depending on my current needs, but there’s one all-time favorite which always works wonders.

Before I move on to the best heat protectants, I want to tell you that choosing the right heated device for styling is extremely important. No matter if you pick a dryer, flat-iron or curler, make sure it’s ionic.

As far as blow-drying goes, I always use cool airstream and recommend doing so.

When it comes to flat-irons and curlers, I never set the highest temperature; 400 degrees Fahrenheit tops.

Which heat protectants are my top choices?
Most of my favorite heat protectants are sprays. There’s just one cream on my list of top items.

TOP Heat Protectants for Hair

#1 Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray

nanoil heat protectant spray

Product website: nanoil.co.uk

Nanoil Heat Protectant is my top choice. It’s extremely easy to use and has never overloaded my strands, even when I was figuring the most suitable amount for my hairdo. It ensures very effective protection from temperatures climbing up to 430 degrees, which is why I love to use it every time I curl, straighten or blow-dry the hair. I always feel my hair is safe and perfectly moisturized. What’s great is that it also reduces the damaging effect of the sunlight stopping the hair color from fading so it’s a true multitasker. Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray slightly smooths the lengths and gently lifts the roots. I was pleasantly surprised to see it also delivers beautiful shine and softness. I read it’s thanks to infused silk proteins. One product has so much to offer! I also love Nanoil spray’s scent, bottle design and the price. Clearly, I haven’t spotted a single negative. All-time favorite!

#2 Kerastase Discipline Keratine Thermique Milk

Kerastase Discipline Keratine Thermique Milk comes second. I really like it, mostly because apart from protecting against high temperatures, it prevents frizz from humidity. If your hair tends to be frizzy, then I highly recommend this product. It also has a shine-heightening effect and eases detangling. I mostly use it when I flat-iron the hair and want maximum smoothness. Keratin is the main ingredient in the formula which is great because hair needs it. The application is a negative. It isn’t nice and easy like with Nanoil’s spray. Hands get dirty and we need to smooth the product evenly across the hair. That’s why I use Kerastase Discipline Keratine Thermique less often than Nanoil, for example.

#3 Ouai Heat Protection Spray

I have mixed feeling about this one. I recommend trying it for the beneficial ingredients and effects, but I don’t like its price and that I ran out of it quickly. Let me give more details. So, the formula has a few oils and many botanical extracts; the key ones include wild rose, chamomile and Barbary fig extracts. They create an amazing aroma and, most important, add resilience to hair. The product does its job, protecting the hair against thermal damage. What I don’t like is the size because I used it up really fast, while it isn’t budget-friendly. It’s not easy to get it now. Maybe the producer’s working on an upgraded version of the product…

#4 Wella Eimi Sugar Lift Spray

The last product on my list. I think it works great as an addition. Let me tell you what I mean. Wella Eimi Sugar Lift Spray doesn’t protect as effectively as the above items, but it has some benefits. First, it gives amazing volume, even to fine hair like mine. I like to use it before curling, usually spritzing it after using a small amount of Nanoil. Together they produce wonderful effects. I also recommend trying it because of a very low price. Used from time to time, it will last you for a very long time.

I hope you know which heat protectant to choose. Nanoil’s spray is my number one, but if you don’t want sprays, you can try Kerastase.

If you happen to have any questions, I’ll be happy to answer them! <3

Bye bye!
