Your Recommendations + My Reviews [6 Best Heat Protectant Sprays for Hair]

Hey guys!

Today I want to share my feelings about the products that I’ve tried after your recommendations. This time the post is devoted to heat protectants for hair.

Not long ago, I asked you how you protect your strands from heat. Most of you regularly use heat protection sprays. Because you mentioned some names, I decided to try them and make a list of the best products. I tried each of them on my hair and I’m ready to share what I think. I also picked one that’s proved best on my strands. Read on for more details. <3

The 6 Best Heat Protectant Sprays for Hair

– Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray –

Excellent choice of ingredients translates to amazing effects. I loved this spray after the very first use! The formula includes hydrolyzed silk proteins – the main ingredient which deeply penetrates the hair to keep it hydrated, plus works on its surface leaving it smooth and glossy. Thanks to added polymers, my hair looks fuller. Naturally, protection against thermal damage is the most important and this spray secures from temperatures of up to 220℃. I really like to use Nanoil Heat Protectant Spray – it makes my hair look so much better. I also love the beautiful scent which stays on my tresses for a long time. It’s 200 ml and has a very attractive price.

– Balmain Thermal Protection Spray –

This spray, on the other hand, won’t be a good choice for all styling methods. Balmain Thermal Protection Spray is great before flat-ironing or blow-drying, but it doesn’t do well when I want curls or volume boost – it makes my hair flat. It definitely has a strong smoothing effect. It’s 200 ml and costs a lot, which is why I don’t think I’ll buy it again.

– Moroccanoil Color Complete Spray –

This one is designed for color-treated hair and I’m not sure how it will perform on natural hair. On my bleached strands, it works wonderfully! I even noticed it revives the color. Beyond that, Moroccanoil Color Complete Spray keeps the hair safe while heat styling and has an intensive moisturizing effect. There’s 50 ml and 160 ml to choose from. I’ve got the smaller one, but I’m planning on getting the bigger bottle.

– CHI 44 Iron Guard –

We’re going back to more budget-friendly options. Similarly to other protectants, it’s effective for shielding the hair against thermal damage, but I wish it also had a smoothing and shine-boosting effect. It’s easy to use and sinks in quickly. I must also mention the amazing scent! I like to use CHI 44 Iron Guard before straightening. Maybe it doesn’t bring any extra benefits, but, given the price, it’s worth trying.

– Ouai Heat Protection Spray –

The components made me reach for this one: it is rich in extracts from Barbary fig, aloe, sage, and oils. I think such a blend of ingredients takes credit for a great nourishing and moisturizing effect. The product also ensures protection against thermal damage. I don’t like applying it, though. The nozzle tends to spray too much product so I suggest using it carefully. Besides that, it’s just 126 g and has a high price.

– Philip B Thermal Protection Spray –

It was hard to get it through the Internet but I finally managed to find it. Unfortunately it’s the last one in my roundup because it weighs my hair down even when I use it sparingly. That’s why I don’t use it before blow-drying or heat styling, but it’s great in the summer for protection against the sunlight and salty water. Because it’s 60 ml, it easily fits in my travel bag.

I tried many different products and picked a few gems. Let me know if you like any of the sprays from my ranking, and share ideas for next reviews. <3
