My eyes have always been super sensitive. Something as innocent as removing makeup would make them turn red. You can only imagine that mascara application wasn’t a thing I was looking forward to. My watery eyes made mascaras run down after the very first stroke of a brush… Finally, I found four mascaras that are fully safe and mild, plus give my lashes an amazing look. Check them out!
Sensitive Eyes vs the Perfect Mascara
When shopping for products for eye makeup, I am super careful. I know that one aggressive ingredient is more than enough to leave me with red, burning eyes.
I’m also aware that many cosmetic manufacturers are not honest when advertising their products as safe. I’ve tested hypoallergenic cosmetics as well as these labeled gentle and mild. Sadly, I was always disappointed. My eyes would be watery, itchy and burning, and makeup would simply disappear.
That is why I decided to find and try some products that are highly appreciated by those with sensitive eyes, like mine. If you have the same problem, then these mascaras should be the solution.
The Best Mascara for Sensitive Eyes – My Observations
As mentioned before, I tried products designed for sensitive eyes. I also paid attention to other things that make the best mascara, such as how long it stays on or what brush it has (this one is the most important to me).
Now, check out the products I picked and which one worked great!
1. Nanolash Mascara
I will start with the absolutely phenomenal and game-changing product. The Nanolash mascara allows me to enjoy applying eye makeup as well as is completely safe. The formula is composed so as to additionally nourish and condition our lashes.
I appreciate the brand for releasing two versions of the mascara:
- Nanolash Volume Up Mascara (volumizing mascara)
- Nanolash Length & Curl Mascara (curling and lengthening mascara)
I bought the product adding length and curl, but you can choose the one that works for you.
Now let me tell you whether it’s a long-wear mascara. First I need to mention that my eyes weren’t watery even for a moment! The Nanolash mascara lasted untouched for the entire day; I didn’t see any flaking. The ideally-shaped, silicone wand is another asset. It let me grab the shortest lashes without any discomfort.
2. Lashcode Mascara
If, like me, you have sensitive eyes, then the Lashcode Mascara should work just fine. It’s a thickening and lengthening mascara which was great for combing and defining my lashes. I guess it was possible thanks to the silicone brush (looks like the Nanolash mascara brush).
The Lashcode Mascara didn’t cause any eye irritation or burning sensation. It also stayed flake-proof all day. I didn’t test it in humid weather but I’m sure it would pass the exam with flying colors.
3. Revlon Grow Luscious Bold Lacquer Mascara
When it comes to my sensitive eyes, the Revlon Grow Luscious Bold Lacquer Mascara turned out a good choice. I didn’t experience any inflammation or excessively watery eyes even though I wore it all day. I also liked how long the mascara stayed put.
However, the brush turned out to be problematic. Because it’s very fluffy, even its tip, I got the product on the eyelids when trying to apply it on corner lashes.
4. Laura Mercier Extra Lash Sculpting Mascara
The Laura Mercier Extra Lash Sculpting Mascara also deserves to be included in my roundup. Because it’s a safe formula, my eyes were happy. Too bad I had to reapply the mascara to get longer lashes.
The brush is okay and applying the mascara wasn’t that hard. I just thought the product was longer lasting. I noticed it was flaking by the end of the day. Luckily, it didn’t irritate the eyes.
Non-Irritating Mascara for Sensitive Eyes. Summary
Sensitive eyes can be very problematic, but with a perfect mascara, the problem is solved. You can trust me, I know that from experience.
Now I’m using the Nanolash Mascara, which is the leading product in my ranking. To me it is the best choice because it prevents watery and burning eyes, plus lets me enjoy lovely, long lashes.
Remember that sensitive eyes require proper cosmetics. You should always check the ingredient list before buying to make sure the product is safe.
