DIY Scalp Exfoliator. A Few Tried & Tested Recipes

Hi, there!

Lots of scalp exfoliators have been launched recently. It’s great that such products are getting more and more popular because, after all, a well-kept scalp means healthy and strong hair.

The aim of every scrub is removing dead skin cells so the skin absorbs the skincare products’ ingredients more easily. I exfoliate the scalp once a week, before the hair oil treatment.

Choose something in a quite rich offer of ready-made products or prepare a DIY exfoliator. Check a few recipes I’ve tested on my own head 🙂

Sugar Scrub

The easiest to make. Add a spoon of sugar and a few drops of a hair oil to a standard portion of a shampoo. Mix well and massage into a damp scalp using circular motions.

Moisturising Scrub

Mix two tablespoons of aloe gel with four tbsps of sugar. Massage the scrub into the scalp for a few minutes, focusing on the entire area. Hydrating properties of aloe deliver amazing hair and scalp benefits.

Coffee Scrub

This mixture is dedicated to short and quite thin hair. If your hair’s thick and lengthy, you can use it but a bit of patience is necessary to rinse the coffee grounds out of dense or long hair. It’s not so easy.

To make this exfoliator, you need three spoons of coffee grounds and a portion of a shampoo. After mixing, you precisely massage the thick pulp into your scalp. This scrub doesn’t just remove dead skin cells but also stimulates hair growth thanks to caffeine which activates hair bulbs.

Baking Soda or Salt Scrub

You make it exactly the same as the sugar scrub. If your scalp is sensitive or it has some small wounds, pimples, etc. give up on salt and use soda.

Do you exfoliate your scalp? What products do you use? I’d love to get your suggestions or DIY scrub recipes 🙂
