Hello!
Are you sure that you need three foundations? What about the collection of lipsticks that pops out every time you open the drawer? And this box filled with nail polishes hidden under the bed? Believe me, you don’t need to use so many cosmetics. Convert to Makeup Minimalism and your life will become easier and more pleasant overnight.
1. What is Makeup Minimalism about?
First of all, don’t panic. Makeup Minimalism depends on getting rid of cosmetics, but only to a small degree. Don’t bother. The Perfect Housewife won’t knock at your door and throw all the cosmetics into a black bag. You are in this comfortable situation that you yourself can decide which products you can live without, and which should stay with you for a little bit longer. And here is the very essence of the issue we’re discussing. Group all the cosmetics into those which best-before date belongs to the past, the products that didn’t serve you well, and the cosmetics which you won’t use up entirely. Don’t think twice, just throw away all the first-group cosmetics. The products which you categorised under the second group can be given to your friends.
2. Be wise while doing shopping, have mercy for your wallet
Emotions are a bad advisor, definitely. When it comes to buying cosmetics, it’s even the tiniest impulse that transforms into a little devil whispering, ‘Go ahead, buy it!‘ I guess, you would agree with me that getting stuff on impulse won’t rather bring anything good. For the same reason, when buying cosmetics on bargain, you must keep your eyes wide open and have a bright mind. Don’t get fooled by all the positive reviews posted on the Internet. After all, this is the reason why your cosmetic collection is piling up in a terrifying pace.
3. You haven’t used it up – Don’t open
This is a simple rule, which all girls should stick to. I understand that you are curious so you would like to know immediately how a particular balm smells, what shade a foundation has or whether a mascara brush is cool enough. However, think for a while whether opening a new product makes any sense when you haven’t used up other cosmetics yet? Besides, you must realize that by opening any product, you automatically reduces period during which it can be applied to skin safely (see point 1).
Do you like Makeup Minimalism? If you do, tell me how many cosmetics you said goodbye to.
