Naturally Beautiful Hands. My DIY Hand Skin Products

Your hands show if you really care for your good looks. There’s lots of truth in this simple statement. Hands give your age away. Dry, damaged and neglected – they definitely won’t make you look younger. Hands are exposed to the action of detergents and other harmful factors all the time. That’s why you should devote more time to your hand skin care at least once a week – something more than applying a lotion.

Beauty salons offer lots of hand treatments. Not every girl has time or money for this kind of beauty care. I like to do some home SPA during lazy Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings. With a face mask on and an oil in hair – I finally have time for some hand care.

  1. Exfoliation. That’s always the first step. At every store, you can find a wide range of ready-made scrubs. As you already know, I prefer natural DIY beauty products. The easiest exfoliator involves mixing olive oil (or your favorite vegetable oil) with sugar. (there are lots of recipes online so you’ll find something right for you) The mixture must be thick not to drip off hands. I apply it and massage the skin. That’s the most pleasurable part of my home SPA 🙂 I let the scrub sit on skin for ten minutes and next rinse it out. Finally, my hands are smooth and moisturised.
  2. Mask – depending on my needs, I make a soothing or illuminating mask. The main ingredient of the skin-illuminating mask is obviously honey and lemon juice. I add parsley oil and castor oil. I massage the mixture into hands, put gloves on and let the mask work for fifteen or twenty minutes. When it comes to the soothing mask, I pour hot milk onto rolled oats. When the mixture cools down, I apply it and leave in for around 15 mins, too. Next, I wash it off and… it’s time for a lotion!
  3. A hand lotion. Shea butter or coconut oil deliver amazing benefits for my hands. Both oils are quickly absorbed and leave my skin moisturised. All DIY products have a great asset – there are no limitations when it comes to mixing different substances. That’s why you can use your favorite oils and make a hand cream.

How much time do you devote to your hand care? 😉 I’d love you to share your skincare tips and recipes for home beauty products 🙂
