Hi, there!
As it turns out, expensive cosmetics and beauty salon treatments aren’t enough to enjoy a beautiful skin. The holistic approach to skincare is a must. This is the focus of skin coaching. What is it? Read on – the post will explain everything!
Skin coaching – what’s this?
Skin coaching belongs to slow beauty – conscious and advanced skincare. Long-term, patient and systematic caring for the skin according to its needs which is supposed to lead to giving up on beauty salon and dermatologists’ services. Skin coaching involves identifying the skin function problems, analyzing the client’s lifestyle, matching the right care routine and giving up on some habits. The treatment usually lasts six months.
Skin coaching – let’s begin!
The first thing that a skin coach does is defining the skin type – the dependence between the intensiveness of sebum secretion and the location of blood vessels. Interestingly, some skin coaches say that combination skin doesn’t exist. The next step is diagnosing the type of the most common problems. They can be caused by the environment and/or wrong skincare. Then, the skin coach learns about the client’s everyday habits (sleep, diet, alcohol, etc.) and chooses the right skincare and makeup products. It’s not the end, though. The client meets her skin coach every few weeks to keep up with the skincare issues.
Three simple rules in skin coaching
Firstly, empty your beauty case. The number of cosmetics has nothing to do with young and healthy skin. The ingredients of products matter. The fewer, the better. Believe it or not, up to four products provide full skincare. Buying another cream makes no sense – you just give your skin another large portion of artificial substances, I mean paraffin (paraffin oil, vaseline, mineral oil), SLS, SLES, parabens and talc.
Secondly, drink water. The more you drink during the day, the better your skin looks. One liter of still water a day is the minimum. It also comes in useful while washing face. Use running, distilled or boiled water. This life-giving liquid helps when your makeup remover is too thick.
Thirdly, use UV filters. According to skin coaching, everyone should use sun protection, no matter the age, skin type and season (excluding winter months). SPF-enriched products are a must for people who have pigmentation problems and visible signs of photo-aging.
