Beauty Sleep: How to Get Younger While Sleeping?

Hey!

We all know that sleep is an essential part of our life. We spend even 30 years sleeping! This makes around one-third of our time. The body goes through an intensive recovery process. The cells renew, the body detoxifies, and we… get younger because the production of collagen and elastin is increased. Today, I will tell you how to make the most of sleep, improving both health and beauty!

Beauty sleep: how to get younger while sleeping?

1. Thoroughly remove make-up before sleep

Apart from removing make-up, you need to apply suitable products that the skin will use for renewal. During sleep, around 2 am, the skin needs nourishing or repairing ingredients to fill in the cells after detox.

Always remember to fully wash the face and never fall asleep with make-up on. Once you clear the skin, get some rich products. Slaap is currently my favorite and I love the Moon Drops Oil Serum – multipurpose, containing 98.95% natural ingredients. It smells amazing and is like a calming aromatherapy helping fall asleep.

2. Remember about relaxation before sleep

Don’t torment yourself binge-watching until late hours. Don’t fall asleep with a laptop on your knees. Put your cell phone aside. Try to calm the mind and relax, do yoga, meditate or simply grab a book. Cleansing and conditioning the skin before sleep turns out to be a great calming treatment helping clear the head. I use a jade roller for applying the face serum. This kind of massage is sheer pleasure.

3. Go to sleep at the same time every night

People tend to complain they don’t get enough sleep and wake up exhausted. Delaying going to bed is the reason for that. Watching TV until late hours, surfing on the Internet replace the time you should devote to sleeping healthily. As soon as you start yawning, go to bed! Additionally, it’s good to get used to going to sleep at the same time every night. This kind of regularity improves the quality of rest, plus it makes the body wake up naturally in the morning.

4. Get a good mattress and bed sheets

A comfortable mattress is a must. It relaxes the body and stabilizes the spine. It’s great if your mattress is anti-allergenic and airy, and has suitable firmness. It isn’t true that it should be firm and others are bad for you. The firmness should be chosen individually.

As far as bedsheets go, sleeping in silk keeps your skin moisturized! How is this possible?  Apparently, silk is less absorbent than cotton fabrics. Plus, silk doesn’t cause damage to hair while you rub your head against the pillow.

5. Don’t eat big meals before sleep

Overeating is never good but it is the most destructive before sleep. Don’t eat too many heavy foods because they will build up in your body in the form of fat folds. Drinking too much may also disrupt the sleep. Ideally, eat a healthy, light meal. Remember to eat the last meal two hours before sleep.

As we all know by now, sleep is the fundamental need of the human body. It also plays a key role in proper functioning of skin. An optimal amount of sleep is essential for skin to keep healthy and rested. We should make the most of this free-of-charge beauty elixir which improves the skin’s vitality.

What about you? Do you get an optimal amount of sleep? What’s your secret to long, healthy sleep?
