How to use and how to make your own blotting papers? A little treat for oily and combination skin owners

Hello!

Does your skin shine in an uncontrolled way in T-zone? Does a foundation cake when applied to your face to change into oily crackling at the end of a day? No worries! This can be fixed thanks to blotting papers! You can find them in any drugstore or you can make them yourself at home.

What are blotting papers?

In plain English, these are slips of paper which are able to collect and absorb excess of sebum from our face. Thanks to them, skin is clean, fresh and ready to be powdered again. Moreover, blotting papers are cool because they don’t spoil makeup; they don’t remove foundation or other colour cosmetics because they focus only on gathering sweat and secretion produced by sebaceous glands. Thanks to them, skin becomes matte again and you can touch up makeup. Naturally, blotting papers will be useful for those of you who have oily or combination skin.

How to use blotting papers?

There’s no other easier thing to do! Very carefully take one blotting paper out form the packaging and put on the place where your face shines the most. Press delicately and then throw the paper away. It’s worth realizing that blotting papers are one-use-only products so using one paper more than once won’t bring out any effects. Once you remove the excess of sebum from your face, you can powder your complexion and enjoy it looking fresh again.

DIY blotting papers

If you would like to prepare your own homemade blotting papers, you’ll need: greaseproof wrapper for sandwiches, a sheet of drawing pad, scissors, a pen and a cosmetic packaging. Start from disinfecting the packaging that is going to be your blotting paper container. Wash it with water and soap or use a disinfectant available at a pharmacy’s. After that, prepare a template. Take the measurement and apply it to sheet of a drawing pad. Cut the shape out and put on greaseproof wrapper for sandwiches. Again, trace it, cut out and put into the clean packaging. Use your DIY blotting papers as often as you need to and anywhere you want to.
